About the Artist
Holly Ellsworth has always been
surrounded by art. Her father, himself an art
instructor, was her first teacher showing her
painting and sculpting. She loved the
intricacies of art but chose to attend Chico
State University acquiring a degree in
Electrical Engineering. She worked in this field
for several years before deciding to pursue her
dream of becoming a fine artist.
Initially finding her medium to be airbrushing
and becoming very proficient at the art, she
quickly became known for her uniquely
photo-realistic portraits which have been
chronicled in books and fine art magazines. Her
expertise led her to television appearances,
special features, gallery exhibitions and
corporations seeking her art for their
collections.
With the introduction of a Harley Davidson
motorcycle and the joy and freedom of riding,
Holly began painting these wonderful machines
thereby joining her new found hobby with her
love of art. Segal Fine Art, which was
Harley-Davidson’s art publishing company
contacted her and she became the second licensed
and only female fine artist working for their
art publishing company. Segal Fine Art, which
was Harley Davidson’s well known and renowned
publishing company, distributed and sold Holly’s
original canvases and prints internationally.
Her Harley-Davidson prints were also sold by
Hadley House, one of the fourth largest art
publishing companies in the U.S. The CEO of
Harley Davidson, Jeff Blustein has two of her
originals in his collection and her painting
“Getting in Gear” was made into a puzzle and
sold at Target stores throughout the country.
Getting married and having children brought
Holly to another phase in her life. She found
that her artistic expression could be
beautifully brought to the world of jewelry.
Holly found an edgy and new way to express her
art by infusing designs on to simple steel
washers and metal pendants. The idea was fun,
quirky, and completely wonderful. Using a
variety of chains, ribbon, leather, crystals,
and beads she offsets the strength of the metal
with the beauty of color and texture. Creating
her own company CheeryOs, she has embarked on
another adventure with her art.
In the works for CheeryOs are more necklace
designs, bracelets, earrings, a children’s line,
and one of a kind custom pieces. It is Holly’s
wish that CheeryOs turns “O’s into Ahhh’s.”
